The Fast and Easy Way to Create Change For the Better! A Feng Shui master visits a house that is for sale and an offer to purchase arrives
the next day. An angry and disruptive child becomes calm and happy after his bedroom is
realigned with Feng Shui. A rebellious teenage son suddenly gets along better with his dad
when a mirror is added to his bedroom. A business woman's office is rearranged to improve
the flow of CH'I and her business doubles in 9 months. Major banks, millionaires,
celebrities, corporate officers and entertainment industry executives are using Feng Shui
to their advantage. People all over the country are suddenly reading articles about the
benefits of Feng Shui. The sudden explosion of the 3000 year old art of Feng Shui is due
in part to the great influx of Asian people into our country who rely on Feng Shui as an
integral part of their culture, and the willingness of Chinese Masters to impart their
sacred knowledge to assist the world during these troubled times.
The words Feng Shui (pronounced FUNG Shway) translates into Wind
and Water, for these were the forces that had to be reckoned with to ensure prosperity in
an agrarian culture. The underlying theory to Feng Shui is that there is a life force that
flows through all things - people, mountains, water, even building. The adjustment of that
force (called CH'I) can enhance a person's health, luck, wealth, and good luck. It is
curious to note that an ancient practice of Feng Shui is causing us to take a much deeper
look at our home environment. For years we have been concerned about our planet, yet we
have neglected to pay attention to the most important part of our environment and that is
our personal space - our homes. How else can we heal ourselves and the planet if we do not
start right here in our own homes - in our own personal space?
Unfortunately, at this time, there is not a single home being
built that does not have a need for Feng Shui. Homes have been built mostly for function,
style, and economics. The result is that most, if not all, buildings have Feng Shui
problems that are creating adverse conditions for our families in terms of our
relationships, our prosperity and even our health. Our homes should be places of rest,
creativity, and harmony. Our homes are our micro universe, and the patterns of energy or
CH'I that flow as a result of shape, design, color and arrangement sets the tone for our
moods, feelings, behavior, and even our fortunes.
CH'I - the life giving energy - enters through the door,
circulates through the house or room, then exits at some other point. Just how that CH'I
flows determines the beneficial or detrimental affects upon us and our loved ones. In
nature the CH'I flows in circular gentle waves and patterns. But because of our lack of
attention to this quality we design spaces that actually can accelerate the CH'I into
harmful linear directions. When the CH'I is flowing in a detrimental way (SHA
CH'I) it
immediately begins to impinge on us and over long periods of time can have very drastic
effects on our health, relationships and finances.
If you are living in a house where you seem to have more frequent
arguments, have seen a decline to poor health or sudden change in fortune or bad luck,
these are major signs of bad Feng Shui. Perhaps you purchased a home from a divorced
couple and now you are feeling stress in you relationship. If that is the case then you
should consider that Feng Shui could help alleviate the problem. Feng Shui pays special
attention to the bedroom because that is where we spend about a third of our lives. The
bed should be placed in the corner furthest from the door so that there is a commanding
view. Similarly, placement of the office desk carries great importance in order to promote
good fortune of the business.
Feng Shui can be invaluable when choosing a home or apartment and
when purchasing land. The best time to have a Feng Shui consultation is before you put
your money down. But if like most people you have already committed and are already moved
in, do not despair; most problems - even the worst - can be "cured" with the
skillful application of Feng Shui.
The time is coming very soon when Feng Shui will be integrated
into our design concepts and architectural schools. It will be unthinkable to build
without consideration for the art of Feng Shui. The resultant buildings and homes will no
longer be places where we are crowded into windowless offices and apartments in asphalt
jungles. Instead, the spaces we occupy will be cheerful, vibrant and healthy.
